At the heart of Operational Risk Management is a flexible and comprehensive software product, Algo OpVar, which is built on a single, integrated platform that can scale to meet a financial institution's changing needs and requirements.

Workflow-driven processes

With Algo OpVar's flexible workflow configuration management capability, an operational risk manager can set the approval process and escalation paths for key activities such as loss event approval, risk and/or control assessment or periodic certification of control test results, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of operational risk data.

Configurability

Adaptable to changing business needs and evolving regulatory requirements, Algo OpVar offers users the flexibility to customize its working environment without requiring external parties or costly software redevelopment.

Multi-language capability

Algo OpVar is delivered in English with the capability to display one or more language translations supplied by clients for labels, commands, reference data and other text that appears on the screens.

Data versioning capability

Algo OpVar allows users to view and/or report on data in its historical structure. Users can look at a history of events, over time and in context to acquire a comprehensive audit trail to analyze results, benchmark activities, and ultimately make better business decisions.

Rich data management and reporting

Algo OpVar provides flexible search capability that allows for searching/filtering on multiple fields using Boolean parameters. Search filters can be saved locally or globally for enterprise or group usage.

Flexible implementation options

Operational Risk Management is offered in one of two implementation options: a pre-configured, standard edition and a customized, installed solution. Both versions are built on the same data platform and provide the foundation for an enterprise-wide risk management program, so that institutions can easily upgrade from a pre-configured to a customized solution as business or regulatory needs change.

Standards-based software architecture

Built on open standards and designed from the ground up as a pure Java-based enterprise application, Algo OpVar is engineered as a three-tier architecture with a near zero footprint web client, an application server framework that uses standard vendor packages, and a back-end database supported using JDBC and vendor-supplied libraries. Web services provide a standard interface for exchanging data with other client systems.
