Algo Collateral Newsletter

A new series of training courses on Algo Collateral have begun at our London office. During the last few months our clients have often asked for specialized training on the different modules within our software. Whether there is be a new colleague in your collateral team, or you have just started to use the functionality you learned about a few months ago, our aim with these courses is to help you get the most out of your Algo Collateral system. To achieve this end the courses will:

• provide users with in depth knowledge of the Algo Collateral functionality;
• facilitate learning of new functionality;
• provide participants with hands-on exercises of different business cases;
• give attendants the opportunity to share their experience with other collateral managers;
• explain about best practices in collateral management;
• provide participants with enough exercised material to feel fully confident in the new functionality;
• provide an additional option for training new team members

While designing these five courses we have focused on the main needs of our clients to ensure a smooth transition to the new version. For that reason some are oriented to Collateral Managers and others to the IT department in your bank. It is our intention to extend the offer later this year.

This course, together with "Algo Collateral business objects & External Modules", may end up being the most popular. You will learn techniques to speed up your reconciliation time. The course goes through all of the new functionality from set-up to efficiently processing reconciliations. Hands-on exercises will give you enough material to tackle just about any reconciliation file you might encounter.

For most of our clients, integrating with external systems is essential. Topics such as synchronizing different databases, automation of data population, personalizing and customizing GUIs are covered in " Algo Collateral business objects & External Modules". The course follows the paradigm of "learning through implementing" while developing a wide range of mock solutions that will give you the experience to extend and integrate with Algo Collateral.

This course aims to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to setup and manage collateral agreements and to efficiently progress collateral actions arising under such agreements. The participants will review the settings of sample collateral agreements, including the most common settings for the ISDA agreements. The course will also provide you with a good understanding of the basic workflow that will allow you to adapt it to your operational procedure.

Loading and exporting data can be very simple with the API Toolkit. This course goes through all the different types of data that can be imported or exported in Algo Collateral. You will learn about the essential data fields required and how to monitor the loading and exporting actions. The course briefly discusses the manipulation of data through external modules.

This course focuses on the installation of Algo Collateral v4 and how to perform upgrades from previous versions. The course covers the database aspects as well as the software structure. The hands-on exercises will help you get accustomed to installation scripts and the configuration of the modules. You will also learn about best practices to optimize your Algo Collateral environment.

The courses will take place in our London office beginning on February 25th. A minimum of four participants is required per course. All courses are two days in duration and cost 1000 US$ per person per day (VAT not included). An initial discount of 50% will be given to the second participant from your company.
