Algorithmics wins best buy-side risk/portfolio analytics product in the 2008 Buy-Side Technology Awards
Toronto, London - November 3, 2008 -
Algorithmics today announced that it has won the Best Buy-Side Risk/Portfolio Analytics Product in the 2008 Buy-Side Technology Awards for Algo Risk Service, its risk management and portfolio construction service.
Dr Andrew Aziz, Executive Vice President, Risk Solutions, Algorithmics, said: "We are proud that Buy-Side Technology has awarded Algo Risk Service the Best Buy-Side Risk/Portfolio Analytics Product for 2008. Algorithmics has invested significantly over the last few years to develop a solution focused specifically on the risk and decision support requirements of buy side portfolio and risk managers. We view this honor as important recognition of our ongoing commitment to innovation and product development, working with our clients to meet the evolving needs of the buy side."
Victor Anderson, editor of Buy-Side Technology, commented: "Algo Risk Service deserved to win this year's Best Buy-Side Risk/Portfolio Analytics category due mainly to its substantial traction among buy side institutions over the past 12 months. In addition, it has recently shown its applicability to the pension fund industry with the signing of Hermes. Key highlights for a number of panelists were its breadth of asset coverage, the flexibility of the managed service solution, and its client testimonials."
Algo Risk Service is a risk management and portfolio construction platform, hosted by Algorithmics, that provides a dedicated production environment configured uniquely for each client's specific business requirements and investment strategies. Algorithmics has doubled the number of buy side clients using this solution in the last 12 months and clients include hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, broker/dealers and insurance companies.
Dr Michael Zerbs, President and COO of Algorithmics, added: "We are honored to win the Best Buy-Side Risk/Portfolio Analytics Product and I would like to thank all of our clients who have supported us in winning this award. Our work with the buy side represents a significant and important part of our business.
